For many years, I’ve had a track called “eno test” that has been attributed to Marumari, on a release called “Fall Collection. I’ve gone on a tagging spree of my collection, and I was shocked to be unable to find it where you would expect to find it in Discogs. The google collectively concludes that “eno test” was a lone file being passed off as a lost but fake Boards of Canada track, back when that was all the rage a few years back. I went for the mp3 archives and saw the files had a mod date of April 2000, but It is very likely there were in my possession a few months before that, in fact for some reason I want to say we were playing them for Christmas 1999, at least.

But for me, this 6 track ep has always had the Marumari vibe, and at the time this was going around I don’t think anyone doubted it, esp. not on the IDM-L list where we all just snapped it up as gospel. Now the quiet on Discogs has me wondering what the real story is, I mean at this point I’m just thinking they are real but early demos, and maybe Josh P won’t cop to them.

only 26 megs so I’ll hold my breath and host them here unless this gets out of hand. I can’t imagine its anything but a buyers market for ‘retro’ IDM so I doubt it is going to get swamped but if anything breaks I’ll update here (for a change)

This inaugural post is more about throat clearing and reference bookending than anything else. My desk doesn’t really even look like this anymore. What a difference 6 months makes! Might I suggest subscribing via RSS, with your favorite reader, since checking back regularly here will most likely result in disappointment. By using an RSS reader, I find it possible to keep up with a lot of more obscure, 10-posts-a-year type sites that would have fallen off my radar back in the days when I could click through a big stack of links every day. So yeah, RSS readers, yay.
